Ready, steady, Gromit!

As you are aware, we are once again being a sculpture sponsor for the upcoming Gromit Unleashed 2 trail.

Gromit Unleashed 2 will see Nick Park’s Academy Award®-winning character Gromit return to Bristol in 2018 for his second starring role in the award-winning charity’s sculpture trails, but this time he’s not alone; the loveable pooch will be joined by his pal Wallace and arch nemesis Feathers McGraw!

The criminal mastermind penguin is on the loose again and the dynamic duo is out to track him down! Gromit is raring to go, but Wallace can’t resist having a nice sit down to soak up the scenery and enjoy a lovely cup of tea at every opportunity. The trail will feature 67 giant sculptures designed by high-profile artists, designers, innovators and local talent.

We are proudly sponsoring a Gromit sculpture as part of this trail which will be placed outside our offices from Monday 2nd July 2018 – Sunday 2nd September 2018.

With the trail starting in less than a week, the countdown is officially on!

As you can imagine, it is a bit hectic around here getting all the last-minute preparations in place. Everything from updating the website to writing social media posts, making signposts, developing competitions, purchasing prizes and even moving Mr Sprinkles to accommodate our new Gromit has been happening.

Alongside preparing the office, we have been making ourselves known in and around Bristol. Jeni and I attending the Gromit Unleashed 2 preview event last night at the Aardman studios, rubbing shoulders with our sculptures artist, the co-founder of Aardman and a rather large number of Gromits, Wallaces and Feathers Mcgraw sculptures!

It was a fantastic event showcasing the true imagination, design and creativity that Bristolian artists have to offer! The calibre of sculptures this year is unbelievable – we saw everything from flying ones to ones that span around, lit up and even transmitted video!

As we can’t reveal any of the sculptures identities until tomorrow, we will be keeping our Gromit’s a secret too! All we can say for now is watch this space and keep your eyes on our social media platforms. The big reveal will take place there very soon on there but of course, there is always the option of popping down to our offices to see him for yourself from Monday 2nd July!

If you are an Instagram buff and want to always know what is going on with our Gromit, follow him on Instagram (yes, he has his own page!) using the handle @TopDogDunkleys.

It is going to be a fantastic trail and a true summer showcase! So, get set and go explore!

What can we do for you?

If there’s anything you’d like to know about Dunkley’s, we’d love to hear from you.
