Payroll Supervisor

As Payroll Supervisor you will report directly to the Head of Payroll and you must have excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan and anticipate bottlenecks in the workflow, to ensure the Payroll team can deliver a professional payroll service to our clients.  You will require strong interpersonal skills, a professional manner and have a genuine interest in supervising and motivating the Payroll team

The Position: 

We’re looking for a Payroll Supervisor to join our friendly team. An outline of the job and what it will entail is stated below. 

When assisting the Head of Payroll, the Payroll Supervisor will:

  • Manage the full Payroll process for over 300+ clients and allocating work within the Payroll team
  • Preparing and distributing reports
  • Ensure all client payroll queries are answered in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintaining and building good relationships with clients
  • Administration of new payroll, pension schemes and preparing year-end returns
  • Managing and motivating the Payroll team of 4
  • Process CIS PAYE and sub-contractors via HMRC basic tool
  • To maintain a working knowledge of HMRC legislation changes / updates
  • Support the Head of Payroll with any process or legislation updates to ensure 100% compliance and customer care
  • In house team training where required

About you: 

  • 3 years + Payroll experience, ideally within a practise or bureau
  • Previous Supervisor experience essential
  • Full understanding of Payroll Processing including government legislation such as HMRC, GDPR, Pension regulator and NMW to ensure full compliance
  • CIS experience would be desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional manner
  • Work independently and as part of a team
