The Great Round Up sells out

18th September 2015

This summer Dunkley’s have sponsored a sculpture on the ‘Shaun in the City’ trail in Bristol, and it’s been baa-rilliant! 70 sculptures were installed all over Bristol as part of the charity sculpture trail, which ran from 6th July to 31st August and has been a huge success, receiving coverage from local and national press and attracting visitors from all over the world.

Dunkley’s sponsored ‘Shaun of the Jungle’ by artist Martyna Zoltaszek, which was on display at Bristol Botanic Gardens.

The Bristol trail followed the trail in London earlier this year, which featured 50 different sculpture designs.

Here are some impressive statistics about the trail:

•    Hundreds of thousands of people visited the trails in London and Bristol, coming from all over the UK and all over the world
•    The official ‘Shaun in the City: Sheep Spotter’ app was downloaded more than 78,000 times, including by users in the USA, across Europe and Australia
•    During the Bristol trail alone more than 225,000 official trail maps were handed out

All 120 sculptures will be united for two special exhibitions in September. The first ‘Great Sheep Round Up’ took place in Bristol from 12th to 20th September, after which the flock will go on display in Covent Garden from 24th to 27th September.

All tickets for the Bristol exhibition sold out in just a few days. The Covent Garden event is not ticketed, but donations to the charity are very welcome!

The Shauns will go to auction on 8th October, with proceeds from the 70 Bristol sculptures, including ‘Shaun of the Jungle’, benefitting The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity. The Grand Appeal funds pioneering medical equipment, facilities, and comforts for patients at Bristol Children’s Hospital. Proceeds from the London sculptures will benefit Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity supporting children’s hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.
