Dunkley's Top Dog!

We are once again the talk of the town with a new edition to our family – Cupid! Cupid is one of the 67 uniquely designed sculptures located around Bristol as part of the Gromit Unleashed 2 trail. The trail is taking place from 2nd July – 2nd September 2018 to raise money for the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity, The Grand Appeal.

About the Trail

Gromit Unleashed 2 sees Nick Park's Academy Award®-winning character, Gromit, return to Bristol for his second starring role in the charity's sculpture trail, but this time he's not alone; the loveable pooch will be joined by his pal Wallace and arch nemesis Feathers McGraw!

The criminal mastermind penguin is on the loose again and the dynamic duo is out to track him down! Gromit is raring to go, but Wallace can’t resist having a nice sit down to soak up the scenery and enjoy a lovely cup of tea at every opportunity. The trail features 67 giant sculptures designed by high-profile artists, designers, innovators and local talent.

About our Gromit Sculpture

Cupid is a red and pink paisley patterned Gromit designed by Blossom and Brush, a local fabric designer based in Bristol.

This is the second time, Rhiannon of Blossom and Brush, has painted a sculpture as part of the trails. Back in 2015, she designed the blue and white china patterned Shaun which sat outside St Mary Redcliffe church.

Our Involvement

We are proudly sponsoring a Gromit sculpture as part of the trail. Our Gromit, Cupid is now on display outside of our offices on Woodlands Lane, Bradley Stoke for the duration of the summer.

Throughout the summer, we expect hundreds of people to visit him along the way. He is number 64 on the trail and makes up one of the 5 sculptures on the Grand Day Out trail, which includes Bradley Stoke, Thornbury, Winterbourne and Chipping Sodbury.

We are no strangers to the trail or visitors as we have been involved in both previous trails. We sponsored the “Two Ed’s are better than one” Gromit as part of the initial Gromit Unleashed trail back in 2013 and “Shaun of the Jungle" as part of the Shaun in the City trail in 2015.

Whilst Cupid is living with us, we are running several competitions to raise awareness of the charity and our involvement in the community.

Our competitions are open to all. However some are obviously more targeted at the younger generation!

  1. Give Gromit a makeover - For the chance to win a cuddly Gromit, pop down to our offices in Bradley Stoke, pick up a colouring-in sheet and give Gromit a makeover. He could be multicoloured, covered in spots, stripes...you name it! Make sure to hand your creatively designed Gromit back to us (with your name and contact details) by the 31st August 2018 to win. Good luck!
  2. Let me take a Selfie - For the chance to win one of our Wild Place Family Day Passes simply take a selfie with Cupid! What could be easier? Then post your selfie on Instagram and mention @TopDogDunkleys and add the hashtags #GU2 #GromitUnleashed 2 #Cupid. The winners will be announced on 31st August 2018. Good luck!
