our community work
Supporting local projects
We absolutely love to get involved in the community and support projects nationwide.
Over the last ten years, we have been part of many charity trails and have sponsored events including the Thornbury Arts Festival, Thornbury Fireworks and Thornbury in Bloom as well as award ceremonies like Bradley Stoke’s very own Stars of the Stokes.
2020 charity pick
St Peter’s Hospice
Throughout 2020 and 2021, Dunkley’s are delighted to be supporting St Peter’s Hospice, a charity which is very close to our hearts. St Peter’s Hospice provides adult hospice care for those with life-limiting illnesses.
Over the course of the two years, we are running events including a charity ball and corporate quiz to try and reach our £10,000 fundraising target.
The first event we will be hosting is our Roaring ‘20s Charity Ball, which will take place on Friday 14 May 2021 at the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery.
The 1920s theme will make the event spectacular, with guests adorning the venue in their finest glamour, flapper dancers galore, live jazz music and a silent auction like no other.

2018 charity pick
Gromit Unleashed 2
During the summer of 2018, Gromit returned to Bristol for the award-winning public arts sculpture trail, Gromit Unleashed 2.
Dunkley’s proudly sponsored Cupid, a paisley-patterned Gromit who sat outside our office for the duration of the summer.
Everyone fell in love with our adorable pooch, staff and the public alike, as thousands of people came to visit. He well and truly became the ‘top dog’ in Bradley Stoke and raised over £630 for The Grand Appeal.
When Cupid was auctioned off, he raised an astonishing £15,000 which made a significant impact on the charity and families involved.

2017 charity pick
Young Enterprise
Dunkley’s proudly supported a team of students from Bradley Stoke Community School who took part in the 2017/18 Young Enterprise company programme.
The programme enabled students to form their own business, raise share capital, then create, sell and market a product with the aim of generating profits.
Throughout the programme, the team was guided by Nicole Crompton – our very own marketing manager – who acted as adviser to their business, Phonic Farm.
The students fought off nine other rivals to win the area finals, the innovation award, the overall company programme, and a place at the South West regional finals in Exeter.

2017
Dinomania
During 2017, Dunkley’s continued its sponsorship of weird and wonderful creatures as part of Bristol Zoo’s Dinomania exhibition.
Our large animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex was the most visited attraction in the walk-through exhibit, which enabled visitors to experience close-up encounters with life-like dinosaurs.
